About
Alex and NSSC
for
anyone new to NSSC, Alex is the current star rising from the club's 20
year tradition
of
focus on Youth sailing, a committment that has delivered a number of National
and International champions as well as individuals who have turned a joy
of sailing into a career.
.
At
the time when he first took to the water in his Aunty's Topper on our training
lake 'Piddinghoe Pond'
Alex
would have been one of 120 children a week being introduced to sailing
by NSSC volunteers.
The
tradition continues at Piddinghoe on Monday
nights - however as a member of Britain's Team GBR Olympic Programme
development squad, Alex's sailing today is literally worldwide.

Alex
has made it to the RYA Olympic Squad !
Congratulations
to Alex Mills-Barton our locally grown hero
it was confirmed
today, Thursday 30th September that Alex has been selected for the Olympic
Development Squad as the result of his International achievements this
year, he is now part of the full Team GBR Olympic Squad.
this has
been the culmination of 4 years hard work on Alex's behalf after his Silver
at the U17 Radial World Championships in 2006 gave him the belief to dream
higher
Newhaven
and Seaford Sailing Club has been proud to see Alex develop from his first
days on our Piddinghoe training lake, and many NSSC youth sailors will
undoubtedly be saying to themselves tonight - "I used to beat him in my
Topper, he always capsized on the downwind leg .... ".
We all wish
Alex every good fortune in the Squad - you deserve your success.
