the Dutyman system
-
Newhaven and Seaford Sailing
Club, like an increasing number of clubs in the UK is now using the Dutyman
system to simplify the management of Duties.
-
The system provides NSSC members
with their own individual password and logon id. enabling them to
-
confirm that they will attend
for a rota'd duty
-
volunteer for additional vacant
duties
-
offer to swap with a member
who has requested a duty swap
-
request a duty swap from other
members
-
Once the system is used by a
majority of members the Race Officer for an event should find we have eliminated
the traditional mid-season problem of tracking down who is actually due
to attend after multiple informal swapping of duties.
-
Members who use their personal
logon to enter the system can view the telephone number and e.mail address
of other members doing duties, making it much simpler for the individuals
in a Duty team to contact each other.
-
We believe that members will
benefit from improved flexibility on duties, particularly where there is
a need at short notice to arrange a swap.
-
The club will benefit from reduced
administration for the Duty coordinator, and the opportunity to have a
higher quality mailing list of e.mail addresses for members as these can
be maintained by members directly through Dutyman
-
Arrangements for Members who
are not regular users of the internet and e.mail will continue as today
ie the Duty administrator will schedule people and a printed list will
be distributed with Mainsheet..
