| Both Bett and I were greatly saddened
to hear of Jill Tate’s untimely death last Tuesday. We knew both Jack and
Jill from the day they joined NSSC, we were members ourselves then.
After Jack died we kept in touch with Jill, and with Maurice Taylor, her constant companion for many years when we met up with them and two other couples (Keith and Mollie Bridge and Mike and Joan Harmer) for three monthly ‘Old Sailors Dinners’- all ex NSSC Members. We also met up at odd times for a meal or for coffee at each others house. Jill was always passing on ‘Funnies’ to us via e-mail – mostly I suspect from her eldest son Andrew. We shall sorely miss her bubbly nature
and good companionship and send our deepest sympathies to Andrew and Jeremy
and their families.
