and as Sussex
Young Sports Personality of the Year
.... Then
there’s Alex Mills-Barton. If you are ever involved in sport, you will
know instantly when you are in the presence of someone who is going to
‘make it’ and is on the verge of greatness.
When
I played with Gareth Barry for young Brighton and Sussex teams, you just
knew he was
going
to head to the top without a shadow of doubt Alex Mills-Barton is the same.
He
is going to win several medals at future Olympic Games - I have no doubt
at all. Alex is just 20......

For
anyone new to NSSC, Alex is the current star rising
from
the club's 20 year tradition of focus on Youth sailing
a
committment that has delivered a number of
National
and International champions as well as individuals
who
have turned a joy of sailing into a career.
.
At
the time when he first took to the water in his Aunty's Topper
on
our training lake 'Piddinghoe Pond' Alex would have been one of 120 children
a week being introduced to sailing by NSSC volunteers.
The
tradition continues at Piddinghoe on Monday
nights
however
as a member of Britain's Team GBR Olympic Programme development squad,
and the 2011 UK Laser National Youth
Champion ,Alex's sailing today is
literally worldwide.
